Accounts & Special Projects Coordinator | Temp to Hire position $21-$22/hr.| On-Site West Chester, PA
Our client, a well-established public-sector organization in Chester County, is seeking an Accounts & Special Projects Coordinator to provide accounting, administrative, and customer service support within its finance department.This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in accounting, bookkeeping, or office administration who enjoys a variety of responsibilities and is comfortable working with financial transactions, records, customers, and general office operations.
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, professional, and comfortable handling confidential information, money, and checks.
A day in the life of an Accounts & Special Projects Coordinator- Prepare and process tax certifications requested by individuals and businesses.
- Research historical tax information using archived records and other resources.
- Scan and maintain tax certification documents and financial records.
- Process tax payments and weekly disbursement checks accurately and efficiently.
- Receive and process incoming mail and assist with general office duties.
- Answer phones and provide professional customer service to members of the public.
- Assist with front-counter operations and respond to questions or requests.
- Perform daily accounting and reconciliation activities related to designated programs.
- Coordinate licensing activities for small games of chance and bingo, including communication with state agencies.
- Assist with a variety of departmental projects and office initiatives.
- Provide backup support for daily closing procedures, including cash drawer reconciliation and securing financial materials.
- Maintain accurate and organized records while handling confidential information.
- Assist with other accounting, administrative, and special projects as needed.
Requirements for the Accounts & Special Projects Coordinator
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 2+ years of general office or administrative experience.
- 2–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Experience with accounts receivable, payments, reconciliations, or cash handling.
- Government or public-sector finance experience.
- Experience working in a customer-facing administrative or financial environment.
- Experience with accounting software or financial management systems.
- Experience with PeopleSoft is a plus, but not required.
