Accounts & Special Projects Coordinator | Temp to Hire position $21-$22/hr.| On-Site West Chester, PA

Our client, a well-established public-sector organization in Chester County, is seeking an Accounts & Special Projects Coordinator to provide accounting, administrative, and customer service support within its finance department.

 

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in accounting, bookkeeping, or office administration who enjoys a variety of responsibilities and is comfortable working with financial transactions, records, customers, and general office operations.

 

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, professional, and comfortable handling confidential information, money, and checks.


A day in the life of an Accounts & Special Projects Coordinator

  • Prepare and process tax certifications requested by individuals and businesses.
  • Research historical tax information using archived records and other resources.
  • Scan and maintain tax certification documents and financial records.
  • Process tax payments and weekly disbursement checks accurately and efficiently.
  • Receive and process incoming mail and assist with general office duties.
  • Answer phones and provide professional customer service to members of the public.
  • Assist with front-counter operations and respond to questions or requests.
  • Perform daily accounting and reconciliation activities related to designated programs.
  • Coordinate licensing activities for small games of chance and bingo, including communication with state agencies.
  • Assist with a variety of departmental projects and office initiatives.
  • Provide backup support for daily closing procedures, including cash drawer reconciliation and securing financial materials.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records while handling confidential information.
  • Assist with other accounting, administrative, and special projects as needed.

Requirements for the Accounts & Special Projects Coordinator

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of general office or administrative experience.
  • 2–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Experience with accounts receivable, payments, reconciliations, or cash handling.
  • Government or public-sector finance experience.
  • Experience working in a customer-facing administrative or financial environment.
  • Experience with accounting software or financial management systems.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft is a plus, but not required.
