Job Summary

The System Surveillance Analyst is responsible for the remote monitoring, analysis, and surveillance of BKV's upstream production systems and field assets. This role uses SCADA, production data, and digital tools to identify operational anomalies, optimize production performance, and communicate actionable findings to field operations teams.

This role requires solid analytical and technical skills combined with a working knowledge of oil and gas operations. Works under moderate supervision and communicates findings that typically require explanation or interpretation. Problems faced may require analysis and deviation from standard procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production systems, compression, and field assets in real time using SCADA, CygNet, and other surveillance platforms.
  • Identify operational anomalies, production upsets, equipment alarms, and potential downtime events; communicate findings to field operations teams for action.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities.
  • Track and report on well and facility production performance against targets; flag underperforming assets for field investigation.
  • Support artificial lift optimization by monitoring plunger lift, rod pump, and compression performance data.
  • Maintain accurate surveillance logs, production reports, and data records.
  • Coordinate with field operators, production engineers, and operations leadership to prioritize response to surveillance findings.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying systemic issues and recommending process improvements.
  • Stay current on surveillance tools, digital technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in SCADA platforms, particularly CygNet, and production data management systems.
  • Understanding of natural gas production operations, artificial lift systems, compression, and field equipment.
  • Strong data analysis skills; ability to interpret production trends and identify operational anomalies.
  • Understanding of natural gas industry standards, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses insights from digital tools to drive operational decisions.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills, including clear shift handoff and accurate reporting of operating conditions.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with various internal teams and stakeholders.

Education & Experience

Required

  • High school diploma or GED required. Commensurate work experience considered.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of oil and gas operations, production engineering support, or related surveillance and data analysis experience.

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or analytical field preferred.
  • Previous field operations experience in an upstream oil and gas environment preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Location

  • Barnett Field / Fort Worth Basin – BKV Fort Worth, Texas office.

Working Conditions

  • Must be available to work holidays, weekends, and non-scheduled callouts.
  • Outdoor working environment with varying weather conditions.
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time and potentially engage in frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting items over 20lbs.

Physical Demands

  • Sometimes exposed to hazardous environments that would require PPE (personal protective equipment) to be worn.
  • Frequently on the road and may remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and engage in frequent eye/hand/foot coordination
