Your Role:
As a Senior Mortgage Loan Processor, you will use your exceptional organizational skills and sharp attention to detail to ensure all loan files are processed accurately, efficiently, and in strict compliance with regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and Credit Union policies. You will serve as a trusted liaison among members, lending staff, underwriters, closing partners, and third-party vendors to guarantee successful loan outcomes and uphold our highest standards of service. In alignment with our deep commitment to community involvement, you will also participate in local service initiatives and proudly represent TEG as a positive community partner.Senior Mortgage Loan Processor Responsibilities:
Mortgage Loan Processing & File Review
- -Review applications: Evaluate residential mortgage loan applications and supporting documents for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- -Analyze data: Assess borrower income, assets, liabilities, employment history, and credit records against secondary market guidelines.
- -Gather documentation: Request, track down, and review missing files from borrowers, employers, and external providers.
- -Maintain system records: Log thorough, accurate, and timely notes on all communications within the Loan Origination System (LOS).
Underwriting Coordination & Communication
- -Submit packages: Deliver complete, high-quality mortgage loan files for formal underwriting review.
- -Communicate decisions: Deliver loan underwriting outcomes, commitments, counteroffers, and denials to borrowers quickly and professionally.
- -Clear conditions: Coordinate directly with borrowers, underwriters, and lending staff to resolve open conditions and clear loans for closing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- -Partner internally: Work alongside underwriting, mortgage sales, and closing teams to ensure a seamless end-to-end member experience.
- -Solve problems: Promote internal cooperation and proactive problem-solving to resolve complex qualification or documentation issues quickly.
Verification & Third-Party Coordination
- -Verify information: Contact employers directly to confirm borrower employment and income histories.
- -Manage vendors: Partner with appraisal management companies, title agencies, and third parties to order and obtain required reports.
- -Monitor workflows: Track the timely receipt and evaluate the quality of all third-party vendor deliverables.
Regulatory Compliance & Pipeline Management
- -Issue redisclosures: Ensure timely, accurate loan redisclosures are sent in strict compliance with TRID guidelines.
- -Monitor pipelines: Review assigned pipelines daily for processing milestones, suspense conditions, and Notice of Incomplete Application deadlines.
Additional Responsibilities
- -Support operations: Execute special projects, miscellaneous assignments, and regular departmental initiatives.
- -Engage locally: Participate in ongoing training programs and fulfill required credit union-sponsored community service activities.
What You Bring:
- -3-5 years of mortgage processing or lending experience required.
- -Associate degree, industry certification, specialized training, or equivalent experience.
- -Loan Knowledge: Conventional, FHA, VA, HELOCs, Fixed-Rate Home Equity, Construction-to-Perm, Renovation, Jumbo and Non-QM products.
- -Compliance: Strong working knowledge of TRID and mortgage regulations.
- -Proficient with Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS).
- -Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills.
- -High discretion and confidentiality.
- -Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish a plus.
