Helix Resources is currently hiring Meter Reading Technicians for the Jeanerette, LA and surrounding areas.

Are you looking for a steady, outdoor position where you can work independently and stay active throughout the day? We are looking for dependable and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Meter Reading Technicians.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, driving to different locations, and working independently. Previous meter-reading experience is a plus, but not required for the right candidate.

What You'll Do

• Travel to assigned residential and commercial locations to read utility meters.
• Accurately record meter readings using a handheld device or electronic equipment.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules.
• Inspect meters for damage, unusual conditions, or signs of tampering.
• Report damaged, inaccessible, or unusual meters and other issues.
• Verify meter information and maintain accurate records.
• Take photographs or document meter conditions when required.
• Interact professionally with customers when necessary.
• Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines.
• Maintain company equipment and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Previous utility, meter reading, field service, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, outdoor position. Candidates must be able to:

• Walk and stand for extended periods.
• Bend, stoop, reach, and climb as needed.
• Access residential and commercial meter locations.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Carry and operate handheld equipment.
