Become a Key Player as a Braider Operator
You will operate and maintain braiding equipment to ensure consistent product quality and throughput. You will work onsite on first shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM), collaborating closely with the value stream team leader and maintenance to resolve equipment and production issues. Your work directly impacts manufacturing output and product conformance for the organization.
Here's How You'll Make an Impact on the Team
- Set up and operate NEB, OMA, and/or TMW braiders according to manufacturing specifications (braid ring height, tube guides, deck/puller gear, bobbin/carrier handling)
- Pull tooling and materials per specifications and log usage in WW3 system and Braider Logs
- Inspect tooling and product, mark defects/new preforms with correct tape color, and record OD and pitch on Hose Process Chart (SPC)
- Run braided hose through wash tank and stage for inspection; maintain 5S and a clean work area
- Monitor machine sounds and performance to detect issues and report production problems to the direct lead
- Perform work of equal or lower classification as needed and participate in lean/continuous improvement teams
Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful in This Role
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening
- Basic computer skills and ability to read work orders and manufacturing specifications
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, pi tape)
- Strong attention to detail and continuous mental/visual/audio attention
- Ability to follow safety regulations and use required PPE (steel-toe shoes, eye and hearing protection)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching as required
Here's What Else Might Help You Out
- Production experience (preferred but not required)
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Basic hand tool skills and troubleshooting ability
- Experience with lean manufacturing and 5S practices
Pay Range
$16.20 - $20.25/hour
