JOB SUMMARY

LIVIC Civil is looking to fill a full-time position for a Survey Party Chief in our Montoursville office. The candidate should be flexible and able to adapt to changing activities and workloads. The position will require good interpersonal skills that allow the candidate to effectively collaborate with other team members of varying backgrounds and experiences. You will be overseeing the daily responsibilities of the survey crew in the field. Based on the client needs, you will address budget, timeline, and jurisdictional requirements.

As LIVIC continues to grow, we are always in search of fresh talent, so feel free to reach out even if you don't quite match the position requirements. As of now, we employ multiple engineers specializing in Land Development, Traffic and Transportation, and Municipal. In addition, but not limited to, we have drafting professionals, landscape architects, a utility coordinator, a construction manager, and a GIS analyst. We have a diverse staff in terms of work experience and area of expertise. Generally, if you are willing to learn, we are willing to teach you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Pre-Survey planning meeting with project managers, resident engineers, and contract representatives
  • Work in diverse environments to accurately collect, measure, and record survey field data using a variety of methods and equipment, including GPS, total stations, and electronic data collectors, as well as traditional documentation such as field notes, sketches, and tracings.
  • Serve as Survey Party Chief by independently performing field survey operations or, when assigned, leading one or more survey technicians; coordinating daily field tasks; providing technical guidance and mentorship; and maintaining responsibility for the accuracy, quality, and efficiency of field survey operations in accordance with project requirements and safety standards.
  • Research existing record information, including but not limited to; record maps, plans, deeds, easements, and right-of-way documents while maintaining field data records, survey project files, and indexing systems
  • Coordinate and work with contractors
  • Connect and keep clients up to date on progress of project
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

This position is suited to a self-motivated, professional person who can confidently work with a variety of people from different backgrounds within the Civil Engineering field. Strong communication and organizational skills are important to the success of this position. Ability to be a self-starter with attention to detail and follow through. Enthusiasm to learn and develop with maintaining a positive, solution driven attitude.

  • Strong PC Skills i.e. Word, Excel, MS Outlook, Virtual Conferencing
  • High standards of confidentiality to handle sensitive information
  • Excellent Written and Oral Skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Preferred:
  • Professional Land Surveyor License Preferred
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying Preferred
  • Associates Degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying Technology will be considered
  • 5+ years of field experience as a surveyor or working in a surveying office.
  • Proven Boundary and Topography experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Global Positioning Systems
  • Travel to other offices as needed
