Summary: The Associate Director of Mission Advancement is a vital position focused on advancing our mission through the effective management of grants, donor relations, communications, and fundraising initiatives. We’re seeking a detail-oriented, relationship-focused professional with strong storytelling skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and the capacity to build and maintain impactful partnerships with funders and supporters.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Mission Advancement to develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies, including major gifts, annual giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, and events.
  • Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, ensuring consistent engagement and stewardship through personalized outreach, meetings, and impact reporting.
  • Support the planning and execution of special events, donor briefings, and community engagement activities.
  • Assist in crafting compelling messaging and collateral that communicates the organization’s mission and achievements to donors, partners, and the public.
  • Mentor advancement staff or interns as assigned, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Analyze fundraising metrics, donor trends, and campaign performance to inform strategy and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the organization at public events, meetings, and in partnerships with other agencies and community leaders.
  • Ensure alignment of fundraising initiatives with organizational values, mission, and equity goals.

Qualifications:

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches, articles, and reports using original or innovative techniques. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, and apply them to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant software tools. Experience with donor database systems and communication platforms.

 

Education/Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, marketing, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

·         Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit communications.

·         Knowledge and experience with affordable housing programs and CASA’s mission.

Certificates and Licenses: 

Valid Driver's License is required, as moderate local travel for donor meetings and community events is necessary.

Knowedge, Skills and Other Abilities:

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for diverse audiences.

·         Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

·         Experience with donor databases (e.g., Bloomerang, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) and digital communication tools.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) preferred.
