Continuous Improvement  Manager

Reports to: Plant Manager

Summary:   We are working with a strong, stable & growing food manufacturer in a very exciting part of the food industry. They are located in Western NY State (not far from the Rochester/Buffalo area) and they are looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager. The CI Manager will be the change agent for the facility and will drive process improvement initiatives, coach, train, and communicate best practices around the plant. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in a food manufacturing environment AND 3+ years of Process improvement/Continuous improvement experience. Please apply if interested!

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with staff to identify best practices to achieve results that drive effective performance and sustainable change
• Design and perform operational analysis of processes
• Identify opportunities to improve program and process effectiveness
• Plan & coordinate training in Process Improvement methodology
• Identify & facilitate improvement projects
• Provide training to drive facility cultural change
• Adhere to company ethics and values
• Provide technical direction to staff as needed
• Support CI across departments

Required Knowledge/Experience/Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
• 5+ years of hands on experience in a food manufacturing environment
• 3+ years of process improvement experience
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
• Proven background with lean methodology
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite, Basic Control Charting & Business Process Software
• Ambitious and able to self-direct projects from start to completion
• Excellent documentation skills
• Proficient in statistical use of failure mode & effects analysis
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Able to travel up to 25%
