The EHS Technician supports Nexus Circular’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across Atlanta-area operations. This position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and provides support to multiple facilities as needed.

This role is designed for EHS professionals with prior safety experience who are seeking to further develop their expertise in environmental compliance, process safety, and industrial operations.

Working collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams, the EHS Technician assists with safety inspections, hazard identification, incident tracking, Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, training support, and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. The technician plays a key role in reinforcing a strong safety culture through active participation in hazard identification, corrective action follow-up, continuous improvement initiatives, and adherence to regulatory and company standards.

Essential Functions

Safety Inspections & Site Support

  • Conduct routine safety inspections of production, warehouse, and facility areas to identify hazards and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Report unsafe conditions and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Support site audits and inspections by maintaining audit-ready conditions and documentation.
  • Review and triage Hazard ID reports and assist with follow-up actions.

Incident Reporting & Investigation Support

  • Assist in documenting safety incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Support incident investigations, including data collection, root cause analysis support, and follow-up activities.
  • Track corrective actions to ensure timely completion.
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including action item tracking, documentation support, and participation in audits and process safety initiatives.

Training & Safety Program Support

  • Assist with coordinating and delivering EHS training, including new hire orientation, PPE training, and general safety topics.
  • Reinforce safe work practices through regular interaction with employees.
  • Support Safety Committee meetings and related initiatives.
  • Promote employee engagement in safety programs and reporting processes.

EHS Documentation & Recordkeeping

Maintain and organize EHS records, including:

  • Training records and logs
  • Inspection reports
  • Hazard ID follow-up documentation
  • OSHA-related records and documentation
  • Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring documentation is accurate, organized, and audit-ready.
  • Assisting with preparation of routine safety reports, metrics, and compliance documentation.

Hazardous Materials & PPE Management

  • Assist with chemical inventory management and SDS maintenance.
  • Support the proper handling, storage, and disposal of materials in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor PPE usage, availability, and compliance.
  • Support PPE program administration and employee awareness.

Field Support & Monitoring

  • Perform routine facility walkthroughs to observe work practices and identify potential risks.
  • Provide real-time feedback and coaching on safe work behaviors.
  • Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to address safety concerns and improve workplace safety.

Continuous Improvement & Safety Culture

  • Participate in safety initiatives aimed at reducing incidents and improving overall performance.
  • Provide recommendations for improving safety processes, programs, and procedures.
  • Promote a positive, proactive, and accountable safety culture throughout the organization.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience supporting Environmental, Health, and Safety programs in manufacturing, industrial, chemical, logistics, construction, emergency response, or other safety-related environments preferred.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, hazard identification, incident investigations, corrective action tracking, and employee safety engagement activities preferred.
  • Experience supporting regulatory compliance programs, safety management systems, and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems.
  • Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM), Management of Change (MOC), incident investigation methodologies, and corrective action tracking processes preferred.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

  • Exposure to chemicals, industrial equipment, and varying environmental conditions, including temperature fluctuations, noise, and dust.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Walk and stand for extended periods.

Travel Requirements

This position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and requires up to 10% travel between company facilities to support EHS initiatives, audits, training programs, inspections, and compliance activities.
