Description
Role
Work with a dynamic tactical environment responsible for the systems engineering, network operations and sustainment and troubleshooting for DoD networks supporting a defensive weapon system in a deployed environment. Implement, configure, and optimize Cisco Routers and Switches and network equipment. Work specific IP network issues for network security and operations, including protocol analysis, multi-network performance analysis, network functionality assessments, and network testing. Function as the IP subject matter expert and systems engineer for a DoD tactical network. This position is located in Afghanistan.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
-3+ years of experience with Cisco IP network systems
-Experience with communications protocols, architectures, and topologies
-Experience with a variety of Cisco network products
-Knowledge of the implementations in L-3 and above, including exposure to various IP network protocols in QoS, routing, or transport
-Knowledge of the integration of the various layers of the communications stack, including from IP/IR down to the Physical Layer
