Career Evolutions has been retained to conduct a search for a General Manager with a fast-growing, privately held high-tech client headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ. The General Manager will be responsible for the operations in Costa Rica.
Job Title: General Manager
Job Description: As the General Manager in Costa Rica you will provide senior-level leadership and direction, coordinating with department managers to ensure efficient asset utilization and cost control and to generate new business opportunities. You will be responsible for the strategy, development, and entire P&L of the products and support services related to the organization’s software solution. Job responsibilities will include market evaluation, business planning, operational growth, software development and services as well as financial management with the objective of achieving long- and short-term business goals as well as building a market-leading technology operation in Costa Rica.
You’ll be a member of the senior leadership team, with full P&L responsibility for all aspects of the business line including product strategy, technology alliances, marketing, positioning, sales strategy, channel development, and services development.
You will also develop strong client relationships to enable to partner with key contacts and strengthen the current business while also developing new business. You will serve as a valued team member in company meetings and as the primary spokesperson of the Costa Rica operations.
Requirements: You must have a personal reputation of integrity and credibility inside employers, customers, partners, employees, investors, financial institutions and those who influence business. You also need a proven track record evidencing successful experience as Senior Executive building a successful, high-growth software business, including the creation, direction and implementation of the business plans, financial components, and operational business development plans. Other requirements include:
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA Preferred
10+ years of experience in various leadership roles in the software industry including having successfully worked in Latin America, preferably in Costa Rica
Successful leadership experience with high-growth software organizations
Fluent in Spanish, conversational in Portuguese is a plus
Record of outstanding success at a organizations that value innovation, collaboration, customer service, and results
Evidence of a collaborative management style that builds alliances within the organization and evidences high morale, effective teamwork, and high ethical standards
Experience managing teams, including selection, training and performance management
High energy, hands-on, creative entrepreneurial profile with a strong work ethic and resilience to work under pressure and strong enough to serve, lead, and support teams
Ability to identify, measure and manage key indicators of business plan success
