Certerra is a consulting firm with over 65 years of professional service in the southwestern United States in the fields of geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, construction materials engineering and testing, nondestructive testing, and welding inspection.


We have immediate full-time career opportunities for a Staff Engineer in our Phoenix, AZ office. Western Technologies offers on-going training and the ability to gain valuable career experience and technical certifications.


BS or MS in civil or geotechnical engineering or related field with E.I.T. or P.E. registration preferred.

Conduct field inspection / monitoring programs. Advise on geological suitability of sites for construction. Study the nature of ground and surface waters, soils, bedrock and environmental effects for land use and planning. Includes mapping, field and laboratory testing and analysis.

 Experience in construction materials testing:

Collect and oversee soil and rock sampling

Assist in analysis of soil to determine engineering characteristics

Inspect development sites

Review engineering plans

Assist in writing technical reports

The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering, with EIT Certification. Preference will be given to those with a P.E. license.   0 to 5 years’ experience.

Salaries dependent on experience and certifications.

All candidates must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
