Electro-Mechanical Technician
We are working with an exciting, fast-growing food manufacturing company that is revolutionizing the benefits of chocolate. They are seeking an experienced and talented Electro-Mechanical Technician. This individual will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of mechanical, instrumentation, and automation systems within the facility. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, this position is ideal for someone who is eager to join a rapidly-growing company.
Location: Montreal, Québec
Job Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintenance of process and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues (mechanical issues are a plus) and perform maintenance and repairs to equipment.
- Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance programs and keep records up to date.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that it meets the manufacturer's specifications.
- Showing a commitment to safety, the environment, working with a team, willing to learn and contribute.
- Interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and manuals to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
- Ensure that all work is performed safely while following CSA, OH&S, GMP, Food Safety, and other Company regulations and procedures.
- Manage third-party maintenance contracts (HVAC, Mechanical…)
- Liaise with machine suppliers for online support to resolve downtimes or equipment failures.
Required Skills/Qualifications:- Certification from an Apprenticeship Program
- 3+ years of experience in electrical maintenance in manufacturing plants (food production preferred).
- Extensive experience with electromechanical preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of high-speed automated packaging equipment
- Bilingual (English/French)
- Strong understanding of all applicable Electrical/CSA– Safety Provincial Codes.
- Instrument knowledge with pressure, temperature, flow controls, calibrations and PLC, and VFD.
- Able to work with little supervision and follow direction.
- High level of self-motivation and initiative with excellent troubleshooting skills.
