A day in the life of a Special Education Teacher:

• Assist in providing an appropriate individualized programs in the least restrictive environment
• Aid students with the development of academic and interpersonal skills along with activities of daily living
• Supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas
• Developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines
• Collaborate with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues
• responding to a wide range of inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress

What you will need:

• Valid PA teaching certificate in Special Education preferred
• Dual certification in special education and content area(s) preferred
• Ability to work effectively and regularly with a computer and computer programs
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Possess excellent interpersonal and team building skills
• Possess strong organizational skills
• Ability to function independently
• Flexible, reliable and passionate
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred
• Current Child Abuse History Clearance
