Position Overview:
As a Repair & Maintenance Technician at Local Bounti, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our state-of-the-art greenhouse facility. By maintaining and repairing essential equipment, you will support our mission to grow and deliver fresh, sustainably produced leafy greens.

Day-to-Day Operations: Perform routine and emergency maintenance tasks to support production processes and ensure equipment runs efficiently.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, ensuring timely repairs to minimize downtime.
Preventive Maintenance: Implement and carry out preventive maintenance schedules for equipment to extend lifespan and prevent unplanned breakdowns.
Equipment Repair: Conduct repairs on a wide variety of equipment, including HVAC systems, conveyor belts, pumps, and other machinery in the facility.
Technical Support: Provide technical support and advice to the production team regarding equipment use and maintenance best practices.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including repair logs, parts used, and scheduled maintenance tasks.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations and provide feedback on ways to improve efficiency.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and standards during maintenance activities, ensuring a safe working environment.
Inventory Management: Assist in managing the inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for repair and maintenance work.
Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repair.

Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose and solve problems efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime during repairs.

Technical Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Physical Stamina: Maintain physical stamina to perform hands-on maintenance tasks throughout the shift.
Bilingual Skills: Ability to communicate in English (bilingualism is a plus).
Attention to Detail: Exhibit attention to detail to ensure high-quality results in all maintenance tasks.


Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or maintenance fields is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 years of hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing, agricultural, or food production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing production equipment and machinery.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and safety procedures.
  • Basic understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, and electrical).
  • Experience with reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks under minimal supervision.
  • Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) are a plus.

Physical Demands:
Standing/Walking: Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods during maintenance activities.
Climbing/Balance: Frequently required to climb ladders or balance when accessing equipment.
Sitting: Occasionally required to sit when operating equipment or reviewing documentation.
Stooping: Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to perform repair and maintenance tasks.
Mechanical Exposure: Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and machinery.
Weather Exposure: Occasionally works in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions, including heat and cold.
Coordination: Ability to coordinate hand and foot movements while using tools and equipment.
Timing: Ability to time movements effectively when handling equipment or working on repairs.
Lifting/Moving: Frequently required to lift and/or move objects weighing 10 to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Vision Requirements: Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus when performing maintenance tasks.
