Title: Manager, Quality Assurance

 

Location: Radnor, PA or Winston Salem, NC (Fully on-site)

 

This position is a management level position which works with limited supervision and is responsible for assisting the Director of Quality Assurance with the management and workflow of the department, and QA reviews. In addition to coaching and mentoring the QA Analyst team.

As a dynamic and resourceful professional, we will rely on you to perform the following duties:

  • Manage a pipeline of loans to ensure timeline disposition. Involves facilitating meetings, developing agendas, presenting findings in an organized manner to senior leadership and summarizing results. Ensure that urgent reviews (i.e. pending claims, special requests) are prioritized.
  • Manage and track lender appeals to adverse actions. Present rebuttals to senior leadership for reconsideration. Assist internal partners in providing feedback to lenders.
  • Manage Special Investigations Unit (SIU) pipeline.
  • Complete 2nd level reviews on staff and/or vendor loan audits. Track results and provide feedback to Analysts and vendors.  Provide monthly results to management. Address any adverse trends with Analyst and/or vendor and provide training as warranted. Track monthly productivity of Analysts. Participate in QRC meetings.
  • Provide management recommendations for process and system improvements. Develop enhanced operational reporting. Participate in system testing and enhancement requirements as part of a coordinated corporate effort. 
  • Serve as back-up to Director of QA, as needed. Maintain a strong knowledge of Agency, USPAP and Essent guidelines/eligibility requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Seven (7) years + of experience in the mortgage banking industry with specific mortgage insurance industry experience desirable. 
  • Practical experience in Conventional Mortgage Underwriting and/or Quality Assurance required. Prior management or Team Lead experience desired.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Knowledgeable of all Agency underwriting guidelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Strong appraisal review skills and knowledge of USPAP requirements.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage, coach, train and motivate staff.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem solving skills to trouble shoot and perform root cause analysis.
  • Strong orientation to process controls and ability to identify potential gaps in controls and related risks.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Excellent organizational, technical and customer service skills.
  • Ability to present difficult responses/findings in a consultative manner while preserving client relationships.
