RN-Behavioral Health Unit

Location: Washington, DC

Our ideal candidate will provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and Physicians to deliver exceptional psychiatric and behavioral care. In this rewarding role, you'll help patients transform their lives through therapeutic exercises that change thought patterns and habits, while also teaching essential relaxation techniques for stress and pain management.

You'll provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team, with Patient Centered Care as the foundation for all nursing interventions. By consistently demonstrating Service Excellence standards, you'll contribute to our culture of compassionate, high-quality care.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor patients' mental and emotional health
• Give medications and check for side effects
• Support patients using calm and clear communication
• Help create and follow care plans
• Keep the environment safe and structured
• Work with doctors, therapists, and other staff

Qualifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – required
• CPI or de-escalation training – preferred
• Experience in mental health or psychiatric nursing – preferred

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• DC RN license required
• Prefer one-year full-time or three years part-time experience in acute care setting

• Demonstrate a proven track record of commitment, with the ability to sustain employment for a minimum of two years
