Field Service Technician
Position Summary
Our Field Service Technicians provide technical support for the products we manufacture. They will provide customer support based out of our manufacturing site in Thornbury, Ontario.
The position responsibilities include:
- Ensure work is performed in the safest manner possible.
- Respond to customer inquiries on technical, operational, and control issues associated with our equipment,
- Provide technical assistance for the repair and rebuilding of our equipment,
- Follow up on technical / service / parts issues with engineering and plant personnel for manufactured equipment.
- Communicate with vendors on issues related to their products and services.
- Prepare detailed case management files to resolve issues and build a knowledge database.
- Provide assistance in developing and presenting technical training programs for dealers and service personnel,
- Provide technical assistance in the development of operator, maintenance, and service manuals,
- Perform warranty analysis, problem detection and related product improvement as required.
- Perform in-house audits / quality inspections on capital equipment.
- Work within expected company standards regarding ethics, safety, quality / ISO, and environmental matters
The preferred candidate will have:
- A strong commitment to working safely and the willingness to actively participate in our health and safety programs,
- A post-secondary education or trade certificate in a mechanical or electrical related discipline,
- Previous experience in the service / repair of heavy equipment for the mining, aggregate industry,
- Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment and Microsoft Office products,
- A valid driver’s license,
- Be eligible to travel outside of Canada as travel may be required from time to time however, this position is primarily based at the Thornbury plant location.
- The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team environment.
