The Raw Material Master Data Specialist will ensure master data is accurate and entered in ingredient database at the time of raw material approval and maintained throughout the lifecycle of the raw material, as well as identify opportunities to update and maintain accurate and relevant data supporting cross-functional teams.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead approval of new raw material documentation and maintain master data transparency of all ingredients aligning with finished product requirements.
- Coordinating and leading raw material approval meetings with adjacent departments to ensure the team alignment on priorities and next steps for approval of ingredients.
- Review and approval of all raw material specific documentation for use in both experimental and launched products.
- This role will collaborate with Supplier Quality team / Quality Managers for the supplier approval program and food safety documentation.
- This position manages the daily activities of raw material approval from a regulatory, food safety, quality, certification, and customer requirements perspective.
- Responsible for updating master data in ingredient database in the event of changes to raw materials and escalating accordingly to the impacted departments for change to be effectively managed (Operations, NPD, Quality, Procurement, IPM, etc.). Take measures in the event of deviations including creation of non-conformity record in global supplier complaint database.
- Responsible for initiating and independently processing of projects within the framework of material master data in cooperation with adjacent departments.
- Responsible for raw material status management in AFUS throughout the raw material lifecycle (LA-PR-IN)
- Reporting of master data and raw material approval metrics (PPI /KPI) and collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Procurement, Operations, IPM, NPD etc.) to drive continuous improvement.
- Responsible for creation and revision of relevant documented information (SOPs, work instructions, etc.) to ensure organization knowledge is available for raw material approval and master data management.
- Provide support to customer documentation team to ensure raw material master data and documents are available for customer inquiries for both new and existing raw materials.
- Functional subject matter expert on raw material master data to support product/process design.
- Take on additional responsibility potentially identified within the scope of ingredient portfolio management.
- Work with business process owners within the organization to ensure ongoing third party certification standards related to raw material management (organic, kosher, non-GMO, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, etc.)
- Must report all food safety risks related to raw material activities and processes to his/her manager and to the supplier quality team.
Fundamental Requirements
Education / Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, or comparable technical discipline
Knowledge / Professional Experience:
- Experience in handling multiple tasks with ability to manage time and focus on priorities.
- Statistical background preferred.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Project Management Experience
- Strong Computer Skills required.
- Skills for cooperation/coordination
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
- Regulatory affairs for food
- Position requires onsite working at Brecksville, Ohio Company headquarters
