@Orchard LLC is a subcontractor supporting the Veterans Affairs Administration with an urgent need for a highly skilled Cardiac Catheterization Lab/Electrophysiology Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric Veterans at the Atlanta VA Medical Center (VAMC). In this role, you will work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment where expert nursing judgment, critical care knowledge, and the ability to act quickly under pressure are essential. You will be a key clinical team member supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. This is a vital opportunity to contribute to the care of our nation's Veterans while working in a supportive, mission-driven environment.
As the Cardiology RN, your responsibilities will include;
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and the Cath Lab team to monitor, assess, and respond to patient needs in real time.
- Perform critical care functions such as:
o Insertion of peripheral IV lines
o Venipuncture and blood draws from central lines and Swan-Ganz catheters
o Arterial blood draws from existing lines
o Hemodynamic monitoring
o 12-lead EKG administration
o ACLS protocol implementation in emergencies
o External pacemaker setup and support
o Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) and Impella (heart pump) device setup and monitoring
o Use of Rotoblator and CSI rotational atherectomy systems
- Document all care provided using CPRS, CART-CL, and WITT systems.
- Comply with all VA policies and procedures and follow evidence-based nursing practices.
Your education and background will include
- Current, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field.
- At least three (3) years of prior experience in an intensive care or critical care setting, including Cath Lab experience.
- Must have practiced in an ICU, Cath Lab, or equivalent high-acuity environment within the past six months.
- Completion of an accredited course in Intensive Care/Cath Lab Nursing.
- Moderate Sedation Certification or equivalent.
- Active certifications from the American Heart Association:
o Basic Life Support (BLS)
o Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
