The Opportunity
Global pharmaceutical company seeks a Medical Information Specialist in New Jersey, for a temporary role expected to last at least six months, possibly longer. This role is hybrid in Nutley, NJ requiring three days per week on-site (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) and two days remote (Monday and Friday) in Nutley, NJ. The hourly rate is $50-$70, plus benefits.Primary Duties
The Medical Information Specialist is responsible for fulfilling the medical information needs of external healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders regarding the company’s products and will contribute to the creation of high-quality medical information deliverables while playing an active role within the department through cross-functional collaboration to support Medical Affairs objectives. Additional duties include the following:- Respond to unsolicited medical inquiries from healthcare professionals, patients, internal teams, and field staff by providing timely, accurate, and balanced scientific information.
- Conduct detailed literature reviews to support product and disease state knowledge; summarize and communicate findings internally.
- Monitor scientific literature for potential adverse events and ensure timely reporting to the Safety department.
- Contribute to the development, review, and maintenance of standard response letters, AMCP dossiers, FAQs, and other medical information resources.
- Support promotional and scientific material review processes by ensuring content accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines (participation in Medical Review and Copy Review Committees).
- Ensure all information disseminated aligns with current product labeling and is scientifically and medically accurate.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in biosciences required (PharmD strongly preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical industry medical information or medical communications role.
- Prior oncology experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of U.S. regulatory standards related to pharmaceutical communication (FDA, PhRMA, OIG).
- Proven expertise in literature search and analysis using scientific databases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in medical writing and summarization.
