The Survey Technician will support the Survey Project Manager by reviewing, preparing, and analyzing survey data as it relates to the project. Projects include BESS, data centers, solar, and wind development. Working under the supervision of a licensed land surveyor, this role involves performing intermediate land surveying tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
· Review ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
· Prepare or review Crossing Matrix
· Prepare or review Utility Discovery Report
· Prepare or review Project Encroachment Matrix (site design review)
· Prepare or review diagrams and descriptions
· Prepare or review Parcel Constraint Map (desktop)
· Survey data management
· Participate in project meetings as subject matter expert
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Land Survey, Geography, GIS, related field or equivalent work experience
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Survey Technician role, preferably in solar and wind markets
o Detailed knowledge of ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
o Knowledge of boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of exhibits and legal descriptions, and parcel subdivision platting
o Knowledge of principles and practices of land surveying in the U.S. Public Land Survey System and metes/bounds states
o Use and operation of surveying and mapping field equipment
o Knowledge of proper field procedures to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
· Ability to operate the applications/software listed below
o Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams
o AutoCAD Civil 3D for production and review tasks
o ArcGIS Online, Field Maps
o iOS (iPad)
· Travel to project sites (approximately 5 site visits per year)
· Ability to communicate technical information in a non-technical manner to other departments
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and support project coordination
· Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills
Pay Range for the posted level: Minimum of $60,000.00-90,000.00
