Position Summary

Moda Health is currently seeking a Clerk for our Membership Accounting Department. This position performs clerical services for the Membership Accounting Teams including opening, logging and distributing mail, preparing and mailing packets and ID cards; updating member data in system; filing; and other departmental clerical tasks. This is a FT on-site position based in Portland, Oregon.

Pay Range
$17.00- $18.55 hourly, DOE. Actual pay is based on qualifications. Applicants who do not exceed the minimum qualifications will only be eligible for the low end of the pay range.

Required Skills, Experience, & Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6-12 months office experience
  • 10-key proficiency of 115 spm on a computer numeric keypad and typing proficiency of 30 wpm preferred
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently with little direction and oversight 
  • Ability to support multiple departments simultaneously, and communicate openly so priorities are clear
  • Reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to come into work on time and on a daily basis
  • Maintain confidentiality and project a professional business image

Primary Functions:

  • Distribute all incoming mail for Membership Accounting Teams
  • Identify incoming correspondence by placing subscriber number and group number on the item, distributing to appropriate team
  • File daily work in the permanent file which includes call slips, correspondence, and information sent to group
  • Use computer system to sort and distribute pended claims daily
  • Maintain updated procedural documentation for Clerical duties and staff in the UPM format
  • Maintains inventory and orders supplies for all Membership Accounting Teams
  • Coordinate and log all retention materials to be sent to storage facility
  • Maintain and update Membership Accounting queue daily
  • Assist Membership Accounting Specialists with special projects
  • Log and track ID cards and applications in Excel and give quarterly reports to supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned
