Title: Counterparty Risk Analyst
Location: Radnor, PA (Fully on-site)
This is an entry level position that is responsible for analyzing and reviewing new and existing lenders eligible to place loans with Essent mortgage insurance. Position is also responsible for analyzing and reviewing data and must be able to organize various processes within Counterparty Risk and communicate timely and accurately within Essent. This position will work closely with all Counterparty Risk team members across numerous responsibilities and areas of focus to help maintain timelines and create efficiencies where available.
As a dynamic and resourceful professional, we will rely on you to perform the following duties:
- Perform due diligence for prospective lenders and servicers to support business initiatives. Track status of receipt of lender information and determine completeness. Work with internal Essent departments including Risk Management, Business Development and Operations as well as lender to resolve any omissions. Review and maintain lender file documentation and ensure files are properly approved, documented and retained.
- Support and contribute to Monthly Client Monitoring procedures through detailed analysis of lender and servicer portfolios, external monitoring, and numerous special topics, while also providing mitigation plans and suggestions.
- Assist in lender scorecard process, providing in-depth analysis of Essent’s largest lenders, identifying special or relevant topics, and creating internal presentations for management.
- Support CRT (Credit Risk Transfer) process by actively monitoring Reinsurer counterparty health and individual deal collateral eligibility, while also providing due diligence for all potential partners on future deals. Provide reporting to internal and external stakeholders in relation to deal collateral and Reinsurer monitoring.
- Support loan-level QA defect and client feedback processes.
- Maintain governance files for all Risk Management related items (new programs/variance approvals, GSE or other agency information remittances, reserve documentation, etc.).
- Prepare client-facing portfolio analysis presentations, utilizing internal reports and data aggregation tools, and creating appropriate presentation formats and layouts.
- Prepare and report new variances and programs with Underwriting and other internal constituents.
- Assist in development of and improvement of Essent processes and documenting of procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in management, business, finance, operations or a related discipline is required;
- Minimum Experience – Entry Level/0-3 years.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft applications.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple objectives with conflicting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster and maintain successful client relationships.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent presentation skills.
