TenderHeart is searching for a Staff Accountant for their Austin, TX location. Applying the principles of accounting, the Staff Accountant will support the Controller and broader Finance team by performing essential day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.

As the Staff Accountant you will:

·   Maintain accurate financial records and/or ledgers that may include payroll information, accounts payable, accounts receivable, retail sales, and taxes.

·   Collect appropriate data and prepare federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.

·   Keep all records and/or ledgers up to date.

·   Prepare and issue written narrative financial reports to appropriate authorities.

·   Perform statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes.

·   Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.

·   Determine proper handling of financial transactions and approve transactions within designated limits.

·   Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.

·   Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.

·   Make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.

·   Conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operations.

·   Collect appropriate data and prepare federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.

·   Participate in Improvement of Operational Performance (IOP) activities.

·   Participate in traditional and e-learning programs

To be successful in the role you must possess:

·         Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting or Finance.

·         Desire to obtain CPA.

·         A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

·         Strong knowledge of computers, software, Excel, and products applicable to the industry. 

·         Must possess the ability to demonstrate effective time management skills while working independently with minimal supervision.

·         Must demonstrate proficient ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, and analysis.

·         Must demonstrate good organization, time management, and communication skills.

Pay Range
$75,000.00   Annually to $85,000.00   Annually
