POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Technical Writer/Editor II position writes, edits, and coordinates the development, revision, issuance, and control of UCOR formal documents and other UCOR specific documentation. The following duties are included in this position: ensuring consistency and accuracy, clarity, punctuation, grammar, and content; reviewing for format and style requirements; updating, correcting, and suggesting improvements; and reviewing and/or copyediting content of other team members. This position will perform these duties under general supervision and within a group.
· Under direct supervision, responsible for providing support writing, editing, and coordinating the development, revision, issuance, and control of UCOR performance documents and other UCOR-specific documentation.
· Reviews technical material for consistency and accuracy, clarity, punctuation, grammar, and content.
· Reviews documents for format and style requirements, and updates as necessary.
· Updates, corrects, and suggests improvements for authors’ materials.
· Reviews and/or copyedits content developed by other members of the team.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, business administration or technical writing, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· 2+ years of relevant experience required; OR 10+ years of relevant experience required in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
· Advanced Microsoft Word skills required.
· Critical attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to follow instructions/schedules/timelines and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
· Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills.
· Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
· Ability to work in a diverse work environment,
· Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements,
· Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
LOCATION
· This position is on-site at UCOR work locations in Oak Ridge, TN.
· No per-diem for these roles but relocation can be considered.
