Movement School is a growing network of free, public charter schools.  We exist to love and value scholars and communities by leading a movement of excellence in education. General Summary

The TIR program provides a pathway for those who want to start a career in education, but have little to no teaching experience. During the residency, TIRs work alongside our strongest teachers, and gain hands-on experience by teaching whole-group and small-group instruction.

Instructional 

 

  • Works with the teacher in planning and implementing a program of instruction that adheres to the school’s philosophy, goals and objectives.
  • Works with the teacher in making purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that provide for effective teaching strategies and maximize time on task.
  • Works with the teacher in implementing modifications as outlined in the student's IEP or 504 plan. 
  • Works with the teacher in creating a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies. 
  • Works with the teacher in encouraging student enthusiasm for the learning process and the development of good study habits.
  • Uses effective oral and written expression 
  • Works with the teacher in implementing and documenting interventions.
  • Plan and present differentiated small group instruction  
  • Maintain paper and electronic filing systems.
  • Maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Attend all meetings and PD’s.  
  • Perform all other duties assigned ​​​​​​
Student Culture
  • Follows all guidelines of the School Wide Behavior Plan when addressing students' behavior. 
  • Supports PBIS throughout the school  
  • Works with teachers to establish and implement behavior modification plans.  
  • Works with the teacher in taking necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. 
  • Shares responsibility during the school day for the supervision of students in all areas of the school.
  • Works with the teacher in providing for the supervision of assigned students when circumstances require a brief absence from the assignment. 

General School Requirements
 
  • Attend all meetings concerning students.  
  • Exhibits positive behavior toward children, parents, staff and administrators
  • Represents the needs of school and children to parents and the community in a positive manner
  • Conducts self as a positive role model in the school and community 
  • Shares the responsibility for school cleanliness and neatness 
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
  • Properly supervise students during assigned duties
  • In the event of teacher absence, covers assigned classrooms and adheres to the sub plans provided.


Education and Qualifications
  •  Associate's Degree, or
  • Completion of 48 semester hours of college credits, or
  • Successful completion of a series of WorkKeys assessments plus earn 96 contact hours of appropriate staff development
