Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Join our dynamic surgical team where your expertise will make a difference in patients' lives every day. As an Operating Room RN at V-Tech Solutions, you'll play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care during surgical procedures, ensuring both the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after operations. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary surgical team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to provide high-quality, personalized care tailored to each patient's needs. Your clinical expertise will be vital in preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile techniques, and implementing protocols that ensure the highest standards of patient safety and infection control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the operating room using sterile techniques, ensuring a safe environment for surgical procedures
- Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and implement measures to ensure patient safety and comfort
- Monitor patient condition and vital signs during surgery with precision and quick response to changes
- Assist the surgical team and administer medications as needed, applying clinical judgment and expertise
- Document care provided and patient responses accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records
- Provide attentive post-operative care, monitor recovery progress, and offer clear discharge instructions to patients and families
- Rigorously follow infection control protocols and respond effectively to emergencies
- Collaborate seamlessly with the surgical team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved Registered Nursing program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active Washington, D.C. RN license in good standing
- Preferred: One year full-time or three years part-time experience in an acute care setting
- Specialty-specific requirements may apply based on unit assignment
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This position involves extended periods of standing during surgical procedures, occasional sitting, and use of standard clinical equipment. You may need to lift or move up to 50 pounds and navigate between various hospital environments. The fast-paced OR setting requires mental alertness, physical stamina, and the ability to respond quickly to changing situations.
