Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional pre-operative nursing care that ensures patient safety and comfort while adhering to hospital policies and best practices
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, thoroughly review medical histories, and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate before surgical procedures
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient preparation
  • Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families about upcoming procedures, recovery expectations, and post-operative care
  • Monitor patient status vigilantly and respond promptly to any changes or emergencies with appropriate clinical interventions
  • Maintain meticulous records and strictly adhere to infection control protocols to ensure patient safety
  • Mentor, support, and guide team members to foster a culture of excellence in patient care

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved Registered Nursing program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Active Washington D.C. RN license in good standing
  • Minimum one-year full-time or three years part-time experience in an acute care setting (preferred)
  • Specialty unit certifications as specified for the role

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

This position involves a dynamic healthcare environment that may require extended periods of standing or sitting, the use of standard office or clinical equipment, occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, and potential local travel.
