Marketing Manager, Member Experience
This position is open to all council locations - Cincinnati, Dayton, Toledo or Lima.
As the Marketing Manager, Member Services you will be responsible for the strategic direction and execution of member communications and engagement, including but not limited to: developing and managing retention marketing campaigns, print and digital (email, text) marketing, website content and strategy, and other initiatives. This position works to increase member engagement and rate of renewal, proactively builds relationships with current members, and ensures the Girl Scout message is appropriately represented.This position appropriately represents the Girl Scout brand at all times and works closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications; the Marketing Manager, Digital Demand; and all Girl Scouts of Western Ohio departments to support member communication and marketing efforts and to develop campaigns that support organizational initiatives and goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Strategically develop, manage, and implement year-round member and volunteer communication plans—from needs assessment through planning and execution—with a focus on the overall customer experience and the goal of retention. Ensure all communications and campaigns:
· Create marketing campaigns that use the right mix of tools/resources to achieve the objective(s, applying consistent messaging across channels that are in alignment with the organization’s branding that are well-designed, effective, appropriate, user-friendly and enhance the Girl Scout member experience.
· Participate in cross-functional project teams related to member retention, member renewal, and member participation and engagement.
· Provide content for and maintain GSWO’s website and other resources that are readily available to assist members and volunteers.
· Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to apply content strategy, aligned with year-round communications calendar; maintain overall branding and consistency in tone across pages and manage periodic overhauls (every 18-36 mos.).
· Build two-way engagement with volunteers that enhances storytelling capabilities and enlists volunteers as brand ambassadors:
· Engage in social and interpersonal conversations with Service Units to identify stories, media and influencers at a neighborhood level and ensure volunteers have access to current brand standards and encourage their application across service unit and troop communications.
· Evaluate emerging communications technologies and platforms. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate; establish appropriate metrics, evaluate, and report results regularly.
· Participate and collaborate fully in MarComm team efforts, including cross-training with and providing back-up support to the Marketing Manager, Digital Demand, to ensure comprehensive marketing and communications coverage.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position is eligible for GSWO’s teleworking policy and may be based in any GSWO service center.
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day for event coverage or council meetings, with occasional out-of-the-area travel and rarely, overnight travel expected.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, or communications and at least two years’ experience in email marketing and website management; or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
· Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar marketing automation platform.
· Basic understanding and experience with HTML and Google Analytics.
· Strong technical and problem-solving skills with an impeccable eye for detail.
· Exceptional writing skills and ability to engage with and serve as advocate for diverse audiences.
· Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
· Ability to collaborate with a team remotely and in-person.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Proven ability to plan and implement marketing campaigns to engage constituents, raise awareness, and communicate all campaigns.
· Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and skill in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
· Knowledge of email compliance regulations such as CAN-SPAM and GDPR.
