Medical Technologist

@Orchard LLC is a subcontractor supporting the Veterans Affairs Administration with an urgent need for a qualified Medical Technologist to provide full-time clinical laboratory services within the VA medical system. This role will support the Laboratory Medicine Service with comprehensive testing and diagnostic analysis across multiple modalities.

As the Medical Technologist, your responsibilities will include.

• Perform full scope of lab procedures in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, bacteriology, and immunohematology
• Analyze and validate specimens; identify abnormal results and report critical values
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain lab instruments and equipment
• Conduct quality control, calibration, and validation studies
• Collect patient samples as needed (phlebotomy)
• Document and verify results in VA laboratory information systems
• Maintain lab inventory and follow all safety and compliance protocols
• Communicate professionally with interdisciplinary staff and support clerical duties as assigned

Your education and background will include

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science from a NAACLS-accredited program
• Certification from ASCP or AMT is required
• Active, unrestricted license in any U.S. state or territory
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the past 3 years
• BLS (CPR) certification from AHA or equivalent required
• Proficiency in EHR systems preferred (VISTA/CPRS or Oracle Cerner)

Salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications; the expected base pay range is anticipated to be between $50 and-70,000 per annum. Overtime at a 1.5 hourly rate may be available if approved by the client in advance.
