Development Coordinator

The Development Coordinator plays a key role in creating an exceptional donor experience and supporting the growth of Girl Scouts of Western Ohio. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining our donor database, Bloomerang, and all data entry, data integrity and processes related to the software. This role also conducts prospect research, report generation and generates timely donor receipts and acknowledgements as part of the department’s donor cultivation, stewardship and fundraising efforts.  The Development Coordinator also supports signature events, donor stewardship, and sponsorship initiatives, helping to build and strengthen relationships with donors and community partners.

 The ideal candidate will be passionate about donor engagement and resource stewardship, possess excellent attention to detail and time management and have demonstrated experience working within donor fundraising software systems. The role reports to our Chief Development & Marketing Officer and is a member of our fund development team.  This role can be located anywhere within our council footprint and based out of one of our Ohio regions - South (Cincinnati), Central (Lima or Dayton) or North (Toledo).   

 Essential Functions

  • Manage and maintain the Bloomerang database, ensuring accurate donor records, gift entry, coding, and overall data quality.
  • Generate reports and mailing lists for fundraising campaigns, event invitations, donor communications, and sponsorship proposals.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify new donors and funding opportunities.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of signature fundraising events, smaller donor stewardship events, and sponsorship activities. Attend events as required.
  • Support donor stewardship, including tax receipts, gift acknowledgments, thank-you letters, and ongoing engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure accurate gift records and adherence to accounting best practices.

 Position Details
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hours must be worked within council operating hours, Monday - Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support fund development activities and/or events. 

Travel

Travel, which is rare, is primarily local during the business day.

Required Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Experience managing a donor database (Bloomerang preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.

Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, non-exempt position and the position pays between $19.50 - $21.50/hour. The position also includes a generous health and wellbeing benefits package.
