Description
The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) - Level III Alternate Program Manager Ctr (BMET Lead/Scheduler) serves as the senior technical and operational lead responsible for managing, scheduling, and coordinating all biomedical maintenance activities within the program.This role encompasses the full range of biomedical maintenance, inspection, calibration, diagnostics, and repair of medical and non-medical support equipment, while also providing leadership, project management, and scheduling oversight for assigned personnel and tasks.
The BMET Lead/Scheduler ensures all work is performed in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidance, Department of Defense (DoD) instructions, and applicable regulations to maintain maximum operational readiness of equipment and personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Ensure all biomedical equipment and maintenance operations are in full compliance with Federal, State, and DoD regulatory requirements.
· Serve as the Alternate Program Manager, supporting the Program Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, managing schedules, and ensuring contractual performance standards are met.
· Lead and manage a team of biomedical technicians; assign tasks, monitor work performance, and provide technical and professional mentorship.
· Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance and inspection schedules to optimize workflow efficiency and ensure timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance.
· Oversee and coordinate project management activities, including new equipment installation, system upgrades, lifecycle replacement, and equipment relocation.
· Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect complex medical equipment, instrumentation, and systems.
· Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting of medical and support equipment; coordinate vendor service when required.
· Manage resource allocation, workload balancing, and maintenance prioritization across assigned sites or departments.
· Review maintenance data and inspection outcomes; provide analytical feedback and recommend continuous process improvements.
· Supervise and validate preventive maintenance actions performed by both internal teams and external service providers.
· Conduct complex inspections and acceptance testing of new, used, or reconditioned medical equipment.
· Prepare detailed documentation, reports, and purchase requisitions for parts, equipment, and services.
· Maintain effective communication with leadership, medical staff, and external stakeholders to ensure maintenance transparency and mission alignment.
· Assist the Program Manager with project tracking, risk assessments, and performance reporting.
· Support training programs and ensure technician certifications and competencies are maintained in accordance with program standards.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Travel

· Bachelor’s Degree is desired but may not be required if minimum field experience requirements are met.
· Must have graduated from the DoD Biomedical Maintenance Course or an accredited civilian Biomedical Maintenance Course.
· Must graduate from the Planmeca digital dental course no later than 12 months after start.
· Minimum 10 years of field experience, including at least four years at a Level II BMET and demonstrated experience in personnel management, scheduling, and project coordination.
· Proven ability to lead and mentor technical staff, manage workloads, and maintain operational readiness across multiple work sites or projects.
· Strong background in project management, including planning, execution, and tracking of equipment maintenance and installation projects.
· Experience managing inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, maintenance, life cycle management, and acquisition of biomedical and support equipment in compliance with OEM and DoD standards.
· Advanced degree in a related field preferred.
· Must provide documentation of eligibility to legally work in the United States without an employer-sponsored visa.
· Must be able to pass client background screening for security clearance.
Salary
· $38.38 to $47.98 per hour
