Description

Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) - Level II is responsible for performing advanced maintenance, calibration, and repair on a wide array of biomedical equipment. This position requires extensive technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor and train junior staff.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·        Conduct advanced maintenance, calibration, and repairs on complex biomedical equipment.

·        Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions using advanced technical knowledge.

·        Ensure all biomedical equipment meets industry standards and safety regulations.

·        Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance, calibration, and repair actions.

·        Provide mentorship, training, and support to junior technicians and clinical staff.

·        Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors for technical support, equipment updates, and recalls.

·        Participate in the evaluation, planning, and implementation of new biomedical equipment.

·        Manage projects related to biomedical equipment installation and upgrades.

·        Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.

·        Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Work Schedule

·        Monday-Friday, 0630-1500 or 0700-1530 ET

·        Important: On-Call Availability may be required for this position

 

Qualifications

·        Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related field, or DoD BMET School Graduate, or Active AAMI ACI credentials.

·        3 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.

·        Expert knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and computer systems.

·        Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

·        Excellent communication, customer service, and leadership skills.

·        Ability to work independently and lead a team.

·        Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.

·        Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and equipment management systems.

·        Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) strongly preferred.

 

Contract Length

3-year contract with options for 2 additional years.

 

Salary

·       $ 25.00 -$34.13 Per hour.

·       $ 52,000 - $ 71,000 Annualized

Work Environment

The work environment may involve exposure to hazardous materials and situations that require following safety protocols and wearing protective equipment.

The role also includes on-call duties.

 

Physical Demands

·        Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

·        Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods.

·        Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
