A top client is searching for an HR Manager/Supervisor. As the HR Manager/Supervisor you will oversee daily human resources operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal employment regulations, and providing leadership in payroll administration and employee relations. This role requires strong experience with HRIS platforms, multi-state payroll management, and in-depth knowledge of California (CA), Colorado (CO), and New York (NY) labor laws.

As the HR Manager/Supervisor you will oversee:

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, particularly in CA, CO, and NY.
  • Partner with management to ensure HR policies align with company goals and legal requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits of employee files, benefits, and payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Payroll Administration

  • Oversee Weekly and biweekly payroll processing using Rippling HRIS, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage employee pay changes, deductions, bonuses, and leave tracking.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and coordinate with finance on journal entries and tax filings.
  • Stay updated on wage and hour laws, overtime rules, and pay transparency requirements in CA, CO, and NY.

Employee Relations & Support

  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees regarding HR policies, benefits, and performance issues.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations concerns in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Support performance management processes, disciplinary actions, and terminations.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes using Rippling’s HR modules.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding, including I-9 verification, benefits enrollment, and orientation.

Safety

  • Accountable for effectively communicating safety policies, procedures, and updates to all employees to ensure awareness and compliance across the organization.

Training & Development

  • Develop and facilitate HR training sessions for managers and employees on compliance, workplace culture, and performance management.
  • Maintain and update employee handbooks and training materials for multi-state compliance.

To be successful in the role you must possess:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong proficiency with HRIS platforms (payroll, onboarding, time tracking, and benefits modules).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of California, Colorado, and New York employment laws (e.g., wage & hour, leave policies, pay transparency).
  • Experience processing and auditing multi-state payroll.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP).
  • Experience in a multi-location or hybrid workforce environment.

Pay Range
$80,000.00   Annually to $90,000.00   Annually
