Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility Required@Orchard is supporting a growing Federal contract with proven capabilities in cybersecurity. We are seeking a skilled Senior Systems Administrator to be proposed as a bid-as-key for a new project supporting the Navy. This role will be based out of Dahlgren, VA and will be responsible for administering and supporting daily operational requirements of computer network systems including workstation, file servers, and web servers. As the Senior Systems Administrator you will:
- The Senior Systems Administrator (Unix/Linux) [Key] will provide the following support, including, but not limited to:
- Provide system administration and management support for various hardware and Operating Systems (Unix/Linux) for existing and future development and sustainment.
- Provide support for various desktop and mobile IT hardware architectures for existing and future fleet development and sustainment.
- Provide support for various local and remote terminal and thin client solutions.
- Provide support for various IT peripherals, including tape drives, magneto optical drives, optical drives, flash media drives, printers and print servers, and plotters.
- Provide hardware support, including performing hardware troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair, opening vendor support requests and coordinating vendor on-site support, planning hardware upgrades and installations, relocating hardware, and updating asset databases and diagrams following hardware changes.
- Work with Customer and personnel to schedule and perform updates to operating system, software applications, and hardware, evaluate impact to system and networks and develop contingency plan, and notify stakeholders prior to installation.
- Maintain records of system administration activities on all supported IT via ITSM tools.
- Develop, execute, maintain, and update system administration plan for supported IT.
- Provide activity status report detailing statuses of activities contained in system administration plan, as needed (e.g., monthly, quarterly).
- Provide IT support to Customer Information Officers.
- Track and reconcile database records, invoices, memos, applications, and related information associated with IT assets, resources, and records; update databases, spreadsheets, web sites, and records associated with IT assets and resources; attend meetings and communicate results to appropriate stakeholders.
- Provide system administration support to include design, installation, operation, maintenance, disaster recovery, and administration of stand-alone workstation and server systems, networked workstation and server systems, local area networks (LANs), wireless networks, and wide area networks.
- Install hardware, software, systems upgrades, network accounts, network security, and web page design, interface and updates, and local system design documentation.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and implement network security tools including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection services.
- Train staff on software applicable to their position, assist customers with IT, monitor system configuration (hardware and software), and provide instruction on computers and applications.
- Maintain CWF directives up-to-date with respect to certifications.
Qualifications:
- Six (6) years professional experience in Unix and/or Linux system administration of networks and software systems.
- Experience in system backup and recovery; basic software management; security management and library management; installation and configuration of hardware; operational systems and COTS software; operating computer systems in different operating environments; and sizing, performance, tuning, hardware / software / network trouble shooting and resource allocation.
- Qualified experience in different network protocols including TCP/IP and major network security tools such as firewalls, knowledge of computing and networking vulnerabilities, attack methods, and latest detection methods.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility
- Bachelor's in Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Science. Master's preferred
- IAT Level III certification (CISSP, CISA, CNNP)
