Raytheon-Rafael Area Protection Systems (R2S), a dynamic and fast-growing joint venture between Raytheon and Rafael, is seeking a results-driven Supplier Quality Engineer to support execution of major defense programs—most notably the Iron Dome AUR production, Marine Corp Medium Range Intercept (MRIC) and future Air Defense systems.

This is a PART-TIME position (expect 1 day per week) currently available in Orrville, Ohio. Great matching candidates will have 15 years of relevant working experience performing verification of complex, mechanical structures related to the Defense industry.

Duties:

• ·     Perform on-site Source surveillance on large, complex structures
• ·     Perform Supplier factory process walks and factory risk assessments
• ·     Manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) including:

•     Issuing SCAR with sufficient detail to define a finding

•     Identifying with the Supplier, the Root Cause

•     Defining with the Supplier, the Corrective Action (CA) and the associated implementation plan

•     Ensure closure of the SCAR through verifying and validating the CA implementation

• Promote supplier performance and process improvement opportunities by participating in process change meetings
• Act as the customers’ advocate when customers have detected quality problems

Qualifications:

• Experienced with interpreting and working to technical drawings, specifications, and manuals
• Proficient in performing supplier audits of processes, products and quality systems
• Skilled at preforming root cause analysis and developing and implementing corrective action plans
• Capable of writing inspection reports, findings, and non-conformances
• Ability to work with suppliers and communicate technical issues clearly
• Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues at the supplier site
• Familiar with special processes management

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM program
• Certified ISO Auditor
