Position Title: Hepatitis Peer Specialist 
Location: Washington, DC (DC Health / Community-Based Organizations) 

Position Overview 

V-Tech Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hepatitis Peer Specialist to support community-based outreach, education, and linkage to care services. This role focuses on engaging hard-to-reach populations and connecting individuals to vital health and wellness resources. 

Roles and Responsibilities 

Peer Assignment and Training 

• Participate in training provided by DC Health for peers with lived experience in recovery or health navigation. 
• Work directly within community-based organizations (CBOs) to support program goals. 
• Serve as a bridge between clinical services and underserved populations. 

Outreach and Participant Enrollment 

• Identify and engage potential participants within and outside assigned agencies. 
• Provide basic education on HIV, HCV (Hepatitis C), and STIs. 
• Conduct outreach activities to increase awareness and program participation. 
• Assist with enrollment of eligible participants into services and programs. 

Linkage to Care and Follow-Up 

• Based on testing and assessment results, refer participants to HCV-related health and wellness services and other community resources. 

 • Develop individualized client care plans to ensure ongoing support. 
• Maintain consistent contact with participants through in-person visits, drop-ins, email, and phone calls. 
• Accompany clients to clinics, community agencies, or home visits alongside nurses, as needed. 
• Maintain accurate and confidential records and submit monthly reports to DC Health in a timely manner. 

Program Administration 

• Follow all agency policies and procedures, including maintaining strict confidentiality of participant and organizational information. 
• Attend and actively participate in required training and bi-weekly team meetings. 

Qualifications 

• Lived experience in recovery, healthcare navigation, or community outreach preferred. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work effectively with diverse and underserved populations. 
• Organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and reporting. 
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
