A top client is seeking a remote-based M&A Integration Lead to own and execute post-close integration across a high-volume M&A environment. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Development and partnering closely with the CFO, COO, and District Managers, this role combines hands-on execution with orchestration of cross-functional integration plans. As the M&A Integration Lead, you are both a doer and a coordinator, directly driving critical integration activities while ensuring the right teams deliver on the right priorities, on the right timeline.
As the M&A Integration Lead, you are accountable for rapidly stabilizing newly acquired businesses, aligning operations, processes, systems, compliance, and culture, and unlocking synergies tied to the portfolio’s value creation plan, without disrupting service continuity. You will also own the integration playbook, lead multiple concurrent integrations, and drive measurable outcomes.
As the M&A Integration Lead, you are responsible for:
Integration Strategy & Planning
• Partner with the VP of Corporate Development, who leads pre-close diligence, to translate findings into a fully aligned integration checklist, playbook, timeline, and execution plan.
• Build and maintain an integration roadmap from pre-close through 12–24 months post-close, including milestones, owners, and measurable outcomes.
• Align integration goals with deal expectations.
• Build and refine templates, playbooks, and SOPs to improve speed and quality of future integrations.
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce cost during integration.
• Incorporate lessons learned upon completion of each integration to continuously improve playbooks, processes, and future execution.
• Maintain a dedicated integration tracker (“bucket”) for each acquisition, ensuring all workstreams, tasks, and milestones are organized, visible, and extractable for reporting.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Accountability
• Lead cross-functional workstreams, clearly identifying who owns what and by when.
• Partner with functional leaders to drive role accountability, resourcing, and execution speed.
• Deploy change management plans to support cultural alignment, employee engagement, and leadership transition.
• Facilitate integration meetings, decision logs, and status updates.
Hands-On Integration Execution
• Directly execute Day 1 and post-close tasks: data migration, title transfers, corporate account setup (e.g., Ramp, banking), insurance transitions, and system onboarding.
• Integrate technology platforms (ERP, CRM, field service software).
• Support HR with onboarding, policy alignment, and people-related transitions.
• Standardize reporting, quality expectations, operational systems, and safety procedures across integrated businesses.
Operational Continuity
• Ensure a seamless Day 1 transition with no service disruptions and strong customer retention through proactive planning and rapid issue resolution.
• Partner with operations leaders to absorb acquired teams, workflows, and quality standards while maintaining service continuity.
• Identify and resolve integration risks, resistance, and conflict across groups.
Value Creation & Performance Tracking
• Translate deal thesis into integration plans with clear KPIs, synergy timelines, and value capture targets.
• Identify, quantify, and track synergy targets across operations, finance, HR, and commercial teams.
• Report on KPIs (e.g., client retention, revenue continuity, cost savings) regularly to the VP of Corporate Development, using data to surface and address issues early.
All other duties as assigned.
