Job Title: R&D Formulation Chemist

The R&D Formulation Chemist position will support senior scientists in formulation, developing new and adjusting existing products. The Formulation Chemist will compound batches and perform stability testing according to standard operating procedures. Will be responsible for a wide variety of testing and formulation across cosmetic, over the counter (OTC) and medical device products in the Skin, Body, Hair, and Oral care categories. This is a team-oriented role that requires strong communication and people skills.

What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, execute, and support on time commercialization of new personal care, oral care, and OTC drug products.
- Identify raw materials and technologies suitable for product development work.
- Set up and run experiments in the lab and use specific instrumentation to analyze samples.
- Manage and conduct stability testing.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment.
- Calibrate lab instrumentation, clean instrumentation, and troubleshoot minor issues that arise.
- Develop and refine formulas with respect to a customer’s brief. Help with resolution of stability issues as applicable.
- Enter testing data and use specific company software programs.
- Assist with lab specific programs and raw material inventory including maintaining a clean lab environment and inventory.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related science.
- Research, Co-Op, or professional experience performing product development work or instrumental chemistry hands on experience.
- 2+ years of progressive laboratory experience including internship or college lab work experience preferred.
- Knowledge or experience with cosmetics, personal care, or OTC formulation development a plus.
