Data Engineer - Palantir

@Orchard LLC is seeking a Palantir Engineer to support Army financial management and data modernization efforts. The Palantir Engineer will support the development, integration, and sustainment of an agile data layer designed to modernize Army financial management capabilities. In this role, you will design, configure, and sustain data pipelines and applications within Palantir Foundry or a comparable low-code/no-code (LCNC) platform, integrate data from Army financial and enterprise systems, and help maintain GFEBS ECC as the system of record while developing intuitive and automated workflows that support financial execution.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with Palantir technologies, enterprise data integration, and modern application development, along with the ability to translate complex financial and technical requirements into secure, scalable solutions.

Your responsibilities as a Data Engineer. 

• Design, configure, and sustain data pipelines and applications within Palantir Foundry or a comparable LCNC platform.
• Configure governed data ingestion from SAP systems, including GFEBS and GCSS-Army, as well as approved non-SAP sources such as MILPERS and DCPS.
• Maintain appropriate source data lineage, timestamps, governance, and data quality throughout the integration process. 
• Implement configurable business rules, transformation logic, and role-based exception dashboards. 
• Develop controlled export-to-SAP interfaces to post or retract results, including financial actions such as FB50 reclassifications, back into GFEBS ECC. 
• Support the development of intuitive and automated workflows for Army financial execution. 
• Integrate modern web-based applications and back-end systems with legacy enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems through APIs, custom RFC programs, and other integration technologies. 
• Troubleshoot data pipelines, application integrations, and technical issues to support reliable system operations. 
• Collaborate with technical teams, government stakeholders, and other project personnel to understand requirements and develop effective technical solutions. 
• Support testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing sustainment of data applications and integrations. 
• Assume progressive responsibility for Level 1 user intake, recurring run support, and issue resolution during the sustainment handoff period.

Your background will include. 

• All candidates must possess a Secret clearance. Due to the hiring timeline, candidates without a clearance will NOT be considered at this time.
• Must be a U.S. citizen. 
• 5+ years of enterprise application development, integration development, or related technical experience. 
• Direct experience developing data pipelines and ontologies in Palantir Foundry or Palantir Vantage. 
• Strong knowledge of SQL, REST APIs, web services, and enterprise integration technologies. 
• Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines and data integrations within an enterprise environment.
• Experience integrating modern web backends with legacy ERP systems through APIs, custom RFC programs, or similar integration technologies. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and identify appropriate solutions.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic federal environment. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Skills to make you stand out.

• Experience supporting U.S. Army or Department of Defense financial management programs. 
• Experience working with GFEBS, GCSS-Army, or other Army enterprise systems. 
• Experience integrating SAP and non-SAP enterprise data sources. 
• Experience with Palantir Foundry, Palantir Vantage, or comparable enterprise data platforms.
• Experience developing business rules, data transformations, dashboards, and automated workflows. 
• Experience with financial data, ERP systems, or government financial management processes. 
• Experience supporting production environments, user intake, application sustainment, and technical issue resolution.

Compensation: Compensation for this role will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The expected base salary range is between $112,600 and $187,600. Generous benefits, bonus eligibility, and significant professional development support are all available.
