Paralegal/Case Manager - Litigation (NYC)

A boutique law firm located in New York City seeks a Paralegal/Case Manager - Litigation.  The annual salary is competitive depending upon experience. 

Primary Duties

The client brings together a high-stakes, cutting-edge litigation practice and a pioneering public interest practice in one modern and progressive law firm.  The client’s highly experienced lawyers serve clients across a wide range of matters, including commercial litigation, white-collar criminal defense, and complex regulatory and securities cases. In addition to litigation experience, the Case Manager must have strong analytical skills with the ability to quantify data and produce metrics/reports using technology tools including Excel.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support case teams as sole litigation paralegal/case manager, or part of a larger team, during all stages of litigation from investigation through trial and appeal
  • Actively participate in document collection and production, deposition preparation, hearings, and trials
  • Produce and analyze quantifiable data using technology tools including Excel
  • Conduct factual research
  • Organize and maintain case files
  • Utilize databases and eDiscovery solutions
  • Assist in drafting motion papers, correspondence, and other documents
  • Prepare and e-file documents with the court
  • Attend trials and court hearings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with high academic standing
  • Proficiency with Excel and other technology used for producing data reports
  • Minimum one year of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm
  • Experience in all stages of litigation, specifically discovery and extensive hands-on trial experience
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about the firm's commitment to civil rights and public interest law
  • Flexible and energetic in a unique collaborative environment of a new and growing law firm
  • Excellent communication skills, writing and editing skills, research ability and attention to detail
  • Strong initiative to problem solve
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure with unexpected and strict deadlines
  • Flexibility to work overtime and travel as needed
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of eDiscovery solutions
  • Based in the New York area or willing to relocate
  • Willingness to make a long-term commitment to the client
